Church of the Redeemer was constituted as a local church in April of 2004. We are a church in the Reformed Baptist tradition. Our mission is “to glorify God by equipping the saints through Scripture to serve the church and share the Gospel.” We desire that our God may be glorified and the name of our Lord Jesus Christ exalted in all that we do as a local church body, when we gather together and when we scatter to fulfill our various callings in the world.
What Are We About at COTR?
1. Preaching the Word: We engage in expository preaching during our Sunday morning service, working consecutively through books of the Bible. We aim to teach the whole counsel of God’s Word to our people through our various corporate services and personal discipleship. We value in-depth Bible teaching in order to grow in knowing God through Christ, trusting God, and living for God’s glory.
2. Loving Community: We are a loving church family that prays, serves, and helps one another. We desire for God to continue to grow us in mutual encouragement among our members and in caring for each other’s needs. One example of this, is almost every Sunday after our morning service we have a fellowship lunch.
3. Discipleship: We are intentional about helping our members mature in both the knowledge of the Scriptures and in the practical application of following Christ daily. This happens as the Pastor-Elder(s) meet with the heads of households individually, and as our more mature members mentor new coverts and less mature believers.
4. Declaring the Gospel: We pray about, plan, and practice the preaching of the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ in our local area and throughout the world. We currently support both local and international missions for the glory of God as the Gospel of Christ is declared and people are given new life in Jesus.
